The FIA World Endurance Championship has confirmed important changes to its 2026 calendar. Because of the ongoing situation in the Middle East, the planned races in Qatar and Bahrain have been cancelled. Instead, the championship will finish the season with two European events.
The first replacement race will be the 6 Hours of Barcelona, which is scheduled for 18 October at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Three weeks later, the season will come to an end with the 6 Hours of Monza on 8 November, bringing the WEC back to the famous Italian circuit for the championship finale.
WEC officials explained that the decision was made after carefully monitoring the regional situation. Safety, together with travel and freight logistics for teams and manufacturers, played the biggest role in changing the calendar.
Although Bahrain and Qatar were expected to host the final two rounds of the season, the revised schedule allows the championship to keep its planned eight-race calendar while ensuring a safer and more practical end to the year.
The calendar update means that fans will now enjoy two classic European circuits to close the 2026 campaign, with Barcelona making its WEC debut and Monza returning as the host of the season finale.
