Norris and Piastri Lead McLaren 1-2 in Sao Paolo FP1

The only Free Practice session began under bright skies, setting the stage for an exciting start to the weekend. Early on, George Russell led the timesheets, but as the track evolved, McLaren’s Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri took control, finishing first and second in a thrilling final run.

The only one Free Parctice started in sunny weather and all the drivers set the pace of the session early.

In the first 10 minutes the drivers completed their first laps on hard tyres, meanwhile Yuki Tsunoda crashed as he lost the car on accelerate. Russell seemed the quickest – 1:11.542, ahead of Norris and Leclerc for the first time.

The championship leader McLarens were 8th and 10th only at the halftime.

For the final 15 minutes the drivers put the mediums up to the cars and started to increase the speed. The last 10 minutes showed real fireworks, Norris and Piastri set the fastest times within 1:10s. Suprisingly Hulkenberg came for 3rd and Bortoleto 5th. The Ferraris did not use softer compounds, and finished only 18-19th.
