F1 Sprint Qualifying: Norris Takes Sprint Pole in Sao Paolo

Lando Norris claimed Sprint Pole after a thrilling three-phase qualifying session under sunny skies. McLaren dominated early, but Verstappen and Alonso briefly shook up the order before Norris sealed the top spot in SQ3. Behind him, rookie Antonelli impressed in second, with Piastri completing the top three.

SQ1

Piastri and Norris opened with the best laps, however around the half of the phase Verstappen topped the chart. Furthermore the Papaya-drivers went back to the top, while Hamilton and Leclerc were struggling in the middles.

Out: Colapinto, Lawson, Tsunoda, Ocon, Sainz

SQ2

The local hero, Bortoleto opened with an under 1:10s lap. The track seemed faster than in SQ1, in this way Alonso set a surprise time with 1:09.320.

The Aston Martin’s driver pace was enough strong to be unbeaten, the McLarens came only 2nd and 3rd in order by Norris, Piastri. In the final seconds, Leclerc spun, which did not allow to improve the times for nobody.

Out: Hamilton, Albon, Gasly, Bortoleto, Bearman

SQ3

On the soft tyres Norris was the fastest firstly ahead of Russell, Antonelli and Piastri. The Australian had some mistakes in his lap.

In the end, Norris could improve a bit, and claimed the Sprint Pole, Antonelli 2nd, Piastri 3rd.
