Max Verstappen dominated the F1 Sprint Qualifying in Austin, securing pole position ahead of McLaren’s Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. The session saw Hulkenberg deliver a standout performance, while Ferrari’s struggles continued. Here’s how all three sprint qualifying segments unfolded at the Circuit of the Americas.

SQ1

At the beginning of the 12-minutes first phase on the medium tyres there were little differences between the times. Verstappen led after the first shots ahead of Hamilton and Norris.

Leclerc needed to complete 3 flying laps to fit into the SQ2, however he finished 13th only. In the final seconds Hulkenberg, Sainz and Hadjar showed some extra and gained the 5-7th positions.

Out: Bearman, Colapinto, Tsunoda, Ocon, Bortoleto

SQ2

Verstappen opened on the top of the SQ2, however Norris beat him and Piastri came to 3rd. The two Ferraris could not set strong laps, Hamilton and Leclerc stood as 9-10th only and had to complete another fast lap. Hulkenberg and Sainz shined again as they finished as 5-6th.

Out: Antonelli, Hadjar, Gasly, Stroll, Lawson

SQ3

The compound has changed from mediums to soft for the final 8-minutes. Russell topped firstly, followed by the Williams-duo, until the McLarens and Verstappen stayed in pit. Then Hulkenberg made a magic lap, which meant a 4th position to him. Finally Verstappen was the fastest, Norris 2nd, Piastri 3rd.
