The #8 Toyota claimed victory at the 6 Hours of Fuji in the World Endurance Championship, a race that had long been dominated by the Alpine hypercars.

Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryo Hirakawa won the 6 Hours of Fuji with the #8 Toyota, thanks to a clever strategic move, after a Safety Car period in the final hour mixed up pit stop strategies. The winning team also took the lead in the overall standings.
The Alpines, which had dominated the race for much of the way, finished second (#36) and fourth (#35), whilst the #15 BMW came third. Ahead of this round, the #7 Toyota, which had been joint-leader in the overall standings, finished 8th, whilst the #20 BMW came in 13th.
In the LMGT3 category, the #32 Team WRT BMW triumphed with Darren Leung, Sean Gelael and Augusto Farfus, the latter pulling his team into the first place at the very end of the race. The podium was completed by the #27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin and the #34 Racing Team Turkey by TF Corvette.
