Formula 1 has announced the 2027 World Championship calendar, with 24 Grands Prix across 22 countries. Portugal and Turkey will return to the schedule, while the number of Sprint weekends will increase from six to ten.

The season will begin with pre-season testing in Bahrain from February 24–27, followed by the opening race at the same venue. The calendar then moves through Saudi Arabia, Australia, Japan and China before heading to North America for races in Miami and Canada.
Portugal will return in June following the Monaco Grand Prix, while Turkey will make its comeback in October between Azerbaijan and Singapore. The final part of the season will feature races in Austin, Mexico City, São Paulo and Las Vegas before the championship concludes in the Middle East, with Qatar and Abu Dhabi hosting the final two rounds.
Ten Sprint weekends
The 2027 season will feature ten Sprint weekends, up from six in 2026. Formula 1 says the expansion reflects strong fan interest in the format, with Sprint weekends reportedly attracting 12 percent higher overall viewership than traditional weekends.
Five venues will host a Sprint for the first time: Bahrain, Australia, Japan, Monaco and Abu Dhabi. Monaco’s inclusion is particularly notable, as the tight street circuit will feature the Sprint format for the first time. The five returning Sprint venues are Montréal, Silverstone, Monza, São Paulo and Lusail.
